MORRIS PUMPS HISTORY AND OVERVIEW

For well over one hundred years, Morris pumps have been built using proven design and manufacturing methods. This rich history of Morris Pumps, the pump pioneers, along with effective utilization of today's engineering methods and technologies assures products that exceed project and user requirements.

Morris Pumps started off as Morris Machine Works in Baldwinsville, NY in 1864 and is one of the oldest manufacturers of heavy duty centrifugal pumps in the United States, as well as one of the first American companies to obtain successful patent on a centrifugal pump.

The product mix was originally focused on sand and dredge pumps and other equipment used on dredging barges. The line developed over time and was expanded to included mining and other slurry pumps. The sewage line of pumps was produced using many of the same design features and materials as the slurry pumps such as large impeller openings, oversized shafts, thick wall thicknesses and superior hydraulic performance.

The Morris line is respected for its engineered approach to solving the problems of wastewater pumping. In 1996, Yeomans Chicago Corporation acquired Morris Pumps, including the 7100 Series and Series 6100CT products. The 7100 Series of wastewater pumps includes the MF-Mixed Flow, EC-Extra Capacity and NC-Non Clog types. The 6100 CT line of recessed impeller pumps feature hardened high chrome construction. The company was moved into YCC's main facility and is manufactured in the same factory as its Yeomans Pump and Chicago Pump products.

Morris Pumps emphasize rugged construction and useful features that provide years of reliable and efficient performance. The Morris family of quality pumps consists of two distinct product lines. The 6100 CT features a fully recessed impeller and chrome iron materials. It's smart design and tough construction make it the ultimate pump for sludge or grit. The 7100 line features a heavy duty solids handling design serving most industrial and municipal wastewater applications. With sizes from 4" to 54", the 7100 line has the right pump for your needs.

Drives and controls are an important part of a wastewater pumping solution. Morris can provide you with the expertise and buying power to provide a single source package. This "one-stop shop" approach provides the engineer, contractor and end user with these benefits: Single contract administration, Competitive pricing, Complete system performance tests, Assured compatibility, Single source responsibility and Proper integration of motors and drives.

Our complete documentation and records files guarantee that Morris parts meet the original project specifications. An experienced Morris parts/service specialist will assist you in selecting alternate materials to meet your changing operating requirements.

Whether in the field or at our factory, pump overhaul & rebuilds are completed with original equipment parts and exacting care. Pumps can be overhauled to original specifications or updated to meet your current conditions and application requirements.

Morris Pumps can provide factory performance testing for all of its pump products through 54" discharge. Our state of the art test facility utilizes specialized software that acquires data to develop pump curves and performance data. An effective calibration and quality control system is used to test and verify equipment performance. Testing and test procedures are done in accordance to current Hydraulic Institute test standards.
